Payment Arrangements & Insurance Billing
Birthstone Midwifery is committed to transparent pricing and flexible payment arrangements whenever possible.
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your due month and begin care. Flexible payment arrangements are available throughout pregnancy; however, 75% of the total balance must be paid by 36 weeks gestation.
For families who need additional flexibility, the remaining balance may be divided into postpartum payments for up to 3 months after birth.
For a comprehensive home birth package totaling $6,000:
- • $4,500 must be paid by 36 weeks
- • The remaining $1,500 may be paid postpartum through an agreed-upon payment schedule
HSA/FSA cards are accepted when eligible.
Insurance & Out-of-Network Billing
Birthstone Midwifery is currently considered an out-of-network provider. Some PPO and POS insurance plans may offer partial reimbursement for home birth midwifery care.
A superbill may be provided for insurance submission after payment has been made. Reimbursement amounts vary by plan and are not guaranteed.
Some laboratory services may be billed separately through LabCorp and may be covered directly through your insurance benefits. Families interested in exploring reimbursement options may work with a professional medical billing service to verify possible out-of-network benefits prior to beginning care.
Medical Financing Options
Some families prefer to utilize medical financing to create lower monthly payments throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Benefits may include: Extended payment terms, Lower monthly payments, Fast approval decisions, Flexible financing options, No prepayment penalties on many plans.

Midwifery care is built on relationship, continuity, and trust - not just visits. While comprehensive home birth care includes everything you need for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, additional services are available for families who need support outside of full-scope care or want to deepen their preparation.
Prenatal Care Only
$2,500 - $3,000
For families who want midwifery support during pregnancy while planning a hospital or birth center birth.

Virtual Midwifery Consultation
$40 - $210 a la carte
One-on-one virtual support when you need guidance, clarity, or reassurance - billed by session length.

Laboratory Services & Testing
