Your Benefit Determines Your Final Care Plan

We use the authorized benefit for postpartum care and do not automatically charge you for visits your plan does not cover. If a listed package exceeds the verified benefit, we adjust the hours rather than creating an unexpected postpartum balance.

Care for the Parent, Too

You Deserve to Be Held Through the Fourth Trimester

The days after birth can hold joy, exhaustion, uncertainty, and healing all at once. Postpartum care creates space for you to rest while receiving calm, practical support with your newborn and recovery.

We do not arrive with a one-size-fits-all routine. We listen, meet you where you are, and help your household find a rhythm that feels safe and sustainable.

Care From Someone You Have Met

Care is provided by Tayna Chessman, LM, CPM, or one designated doula partner. You meet personally before your schedule is finalized so your recovery priorities, feeding preferences, household needs, and boundaries are understood.

The practice combines the warmth of personal doula care with Tayna's experience as a California Licensed Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife, birth and postpartum doula, and professional doula trainer.

Postpartum Doula Questions

Are all packages automatically covered by insurance?

No. The packages show possible care structures and values. Your exact coverage, hours, authorized services, and schedule depend on verification and plan approval.

What happens if a package costs more than my verified benefit?

We adjust the insurance-based hours to fit the authorized benefit rather than automatically creating an unexpected balance for uncovered postpartum visits.

What is the difference between daytime and overnight support?

Daytime visits focus on recovery, feeding, newborn education, meals, appointments, household rhythm, and rest. Overnight care creates longer protected sleep periods while the doula supports newborn needs and feeding according to your plan.

What are the minimum shift lengths?

Daytime care has a four-hour minimum. Overnight care has an eight-hour minimum. Package schedules show how those hours may be arranged.

What does four weeks of scheduled support mean?

Each package includes a planned four-week period of follow-up and continuity alongside your in-person postpartum visits. The timing and details are confirmed in your care plan.

Does a postpartum doula provide medical care?

No. Postpartum doula care is nonclinical. Your doula offers education, emotional support, newborn-care guidance, feeding support, rest, and practical household help. Medical concerns are referred to the appropriate licensed provider.

Where is in-home care available?

In-person postpartum availability is centered in Murrieta. Your exact service address and scheduling availability are confirmed before the care plan is finalized.

Can I use PPO, Carrot, or employer benefits?

Possibly. We can provide itemized documentation when appropriate, but eligibility and reimbursement are determined by your plan or benefit administrator and are not guaranteed.

PPO & Employer Benefits

Documentation for Possible Reimbursement

Families with PPO coverage, Carrot, or employer-sponsored family-building benefits may be eligible for partial reimbursement. We can provide an itemized receipt or superbill when appropriate.

Confirm eligibility, documentation requirements, deductibles, and reimbursement limits with your plan before purchasing private-pay care.
